Faith in the Midst of a Broken World

There is a terrible struggle that we all one day face. We struggle to live with the pain and hardship of injustice, and we struggle to have faith in God, who has allowed it to take place. 

• • • This is the challenge that we’ve seen the prophet Habakkuk face in his back and forth prayer dialogue with God. Remember that we left Habakkuk waiting to get an answer from God after he complained to God that the destruction of Jerusalem at the hands of the Babylonians would be allowing for more injustice and the opposite of what the prophet expected God to do.
